Since the debut of our Losi Mini-B Bolt-On Sprint car cage and body, folks have asked us to come out with a carbon fiber chassis similar to that of our late model conversions. We were hesitant, because as-is, the Mini-Sprint class has grown and is relatively affordable if using the Losi Mini-B Pro Roller as a base with a brushless kit. With the Mini-B RTR Brushless, it makes it even more affordable. But, we still got asked constantly. So here it is.. We've been running this at the last several big events and it does very well.
Here are the benefits of the carbon chassis kit:
- Utilizes the original HackFab Bolt-On Sprint cage and body (NO NEED TO REBUY)
- Improved battery location - left weight bias
The battery is sandwiched in an upright position. The Protek 2s 1100mah is our battery of choice and fits perfect. Other batteries may also fit - the post holes are slotted for some adjustability. The standoffs are 30mm tall, so a 30mm wide battery is ideal.
- Sides of the chassis are drilled for optional weight bars to allow easy weight tuning and placement (the actual bars will be available Late March). The kit comes with 3d printed bars if you want to help keep dirt out of the chassis without adding much weight. The bars can also help tune chassis stiffness.
- If you don't want to run the weight bars, our battery bracket system from the Late Model/EDM/Omni kits will fit in a transverse position in front of the waterfall (not included).
- Lowers the center of gravity and gets the car lower than the stock aluminum chassis
- Added additional servo hole 7mm forward of stock to allow installation of aftermarket servo with straight horn
- Ability to run a larger 1/12 servo using our 1/12 servo mount from the late model conversion
- Eliminates the front mount of the sprint cage kit that bolts to the steering bellcrank posts - instead we use doubled up carbon and stainless steel standoffs to mount the cage in the same hinge holes on the cage.
- Wider and more open chassis plate allows for more room to mount electronics or chassis weights
This chassis conversion kit will convert your Losi Mini-B into a full fledged oval sprint car. It also provides a left offset weight bias for better handling.
