Looking to limit crud hitting your rear axles and drivetrain? Want to add a bit of carbon fiber bling to your ride? Well now you can do both!
Our carbon mud guards for the Traxxas Maxx were designed as a direct bolt on part. They utilize the holes in the stock rear arms to bolt right on. Since the arms do not allow for a flush mount, we also designed a printed spacer that fills the gap to allow a solid plate to mount up without the need to bend to the contour of the arms. It still clears the chassis and all suspension components.
The kit includes: 2 carbon plates (for Traxxas Wide Maxx arms) 2 Wide Maxx spacers (they are specific to Right and Left Side) Stainless Steel hardware
Instructions:
Install the m3x8 screw into carbon plate and into the inner hole on the arm.
Next, install the spacer between the plate and the arm. The "ledge" on the spacer goes above the arm (this is to prevent it from spinning around the arm). Look at the photos for reference.
Install the m3x18 screw into the carbon, through the spacer (it may thread slightly into the spacer), and into the outer holes on the arm.
Last, install the m3x6 screw into the middle hole and into the spacer. BE CAREFUL not to go too fast or too hard, as it may strip in the printed part. This screw is really only to help keep the spacer from rotating, but it is needed.. just be gentle.
Carbon Fiber finish may vary (gloss/matte/plain/twill) due to material availability.
